Karen Gomez graduated with a BS in Physical Therapy from St. Louis University in 1983 and worked in a hospital setting for 10 years specializing in neurological rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedics. In 1986 she continued her education in undergrad Athletic Training and her masters in Exercise Physiology. She worked with University of Illinois- Chicago (UIC) from 1987-1991 as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer working with men’s and women’s collegiate sports. In 1993 she began working solely in outpatient care in the industrial rehabilitation setting.
In 1998 her began her studies with Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT), which offered the allopathic and alternative medicine model. In 2007 she graduated from the Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation (DCR) School of IMT and earned her certification in 2008.
