Kyler York
I was introduced to and fascinated by alternative medicine as a child when I would go to the acupuncturist with my stepmom. I was able to see first-hand my stepmom thrive with Multiple Sclerosis and avoid pharmaceuticals by living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. What I love about this medicine is the intention of discovering the root of the problem by looking at the body-mind-spirit connection and lifestyle factors that contribute to the disharmony that leads to pain and disease.
After working in corporate America and being fed up with the constant stress and long hours, I began to focus on my yoga practice which in turn helped me to discover a deeper connection to my body. I feel that this connection to the body is lost on many, and I aim to bring that connection back to the patient with the treatment modalities offered with Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, dietary advice, meditation and movement techniques.
I emphasize patient education and physiological understanding of the body to combine ancient East Asian wisdom with today’s superior understanding of the human body and how it works.
