Dates: Saturday, February 24: 2:00pm-4:00pm Saturday, March 17: 2:00pm-4:00pm
We will begin with a Yin Flow class, led by Jennifer Goodman, to gently warm up our bodies and end with a complete practice of Yoga Nidra, led by Nina Yau, to ease our minds.
Yin Flow is a balanced practice of yin and yang, stillness and flow, to bring about energetic circulation, growth and strength, and vitality of body, mind, and heart.
Yoga Nidra is a deep form of relaxation, bringing an incredible calmness, quietness, and clarity. Yoga nidra means "yogic sleep," a state of conscious Deep Sleep. In Yoga Nidra, one appears to be asleep but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of awareness. Yoga Nidra can be helpful in soothing the nervous system, increasing relaxation and mental focus.
Please bring additional layers/socks, as the body temperature can drop slightly during Yoga Nidra.
Nina Yau has been teaching yoga since 2012, is certified E-RYT 200 by the Yoga Alliance, and is a 300-hour Yin and Yang Yoga Registered Teacher under the founder of Yin yoga, Master Paulie Zink. As a certified Black belt in Shotokan Karate, she has over a decade’s worth of martial arts training and experience and brings a different perspective to the yoga practice. Nina’s classes are a creative blend of philosophy, breath work and focus, and mindful movement to ease the body, lighten the heart, and strengthen the spirit. www.ninayau.com
